A Taste of Art Dinner Series: Porcelain’s Journey

  • Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens 1151 Oxford Road San Marino, CA, 91108 United States (map)

In this new after-hours dinner series, join Maite Gomez-Rejón of ArtBites for intimate gallery conversations that explore the role of food through historical and social lenses. Each discussion is followed by a four-course seated dinner inspired by the gallery conversations, the Huntington Gardens, and its rare cookbook collection, bringing the ideas on the plate full circle.

In the first program, Maite follows porcelain’s journey as it travels from China to Europe and the Carolinas through the special exhibition the eight directions of the wind: Edmund de Waal at The Huntington. Along the way, participants consider what defines luxury, what stories objects carry, and how meaning shifts as those stories are told and retold.
